Lives Changed in Mozambique!

We recently received an encouraging report from our ministry partner Reencontro in Mozambique! Reencontro shares God’s love with orphans and vulnerable children through housing, education, food and health care. The six children in the Congolo family, Alberto, Jamie, Amelia, Ana, Daniel and Alexandre, live with their AIDS -infected parents, who are also stricken with tuberculosis. Because of their illnesses, Mr. and Mrs. Congolo have been unemployed and unable to care for their children’s basic needs, much less provide an adequate place for them to live. And to make matters even worse, the family was, until recently, crammed into a one-room stick- and- straw hut, making the children vulnerable to their parents’ extremely contagious tuberculosis. Without help, each one of these kids would likely have gotten sick.

It’s a good thing the story doesn’t stop there! With the help of Cross International and our faithful supporters, Reencontro built the Congolo family a brand new sturdy concrete home! The ministry also provided food, clothing and medical care for the entire family. Now the children have plenty of space to grow, and Mr. and Mrs. Congolo are managing their illness and feeling healthier. Praise the Lord for lives changed!
