Tony M. has served on the Cross International communications staff since 2008, giving a voice to the poor and marginalized through words, photographs, and on-the-ground reporting. He brings to Cross his experience as a newspaper journalist, magazine writer, and new media communicator, combined with a seminary education and personal faith in Christ that have shaped his understanding of the biblical mandate to love the poor. His work with Cross has taken him around the world to meet with ministry partners and the people they serve. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, he now lives in south Florida with his wife & two sons.
With a passion for international missions, a heart for the poor and a story to tell, Catherine feels blessed to join Cross International’s communication team as a staff writer. After spending the last three years serving the poor in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky, she is thrilled to continue the adventure by writing about Cross ministry partners around the world. Originally from south Florida, Catherine is happy to back in her hometown using the talents God has given her to help vulnerable families overseas and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Having spent the better part of two decades in the world of corporate advertising, Chris recently asked himself, “what is the one thing I can do to radically alter my life?” He found the answer at Cross International. An award-winning writer who has given a voice to some of the biggest brands in the world, Chris now feels blessed to be able to give a voice to the poor and marginalized around the world. Although new to the world of nonprofit and ministry work, Chris feels called to serve, and looks forward to sharing stories of inspiration and wonder as he finds them.
Zach O. has been working at Cross, first as a contractor, then as a Projects Manager, since January 2010. He served in the Peace Corps in Haiti from 2002 to 2004, and continued to live in Haiti for four years after he left the Peace Corps. Zach holds a degree in Environmental Management from Indiana University and is currently working on his Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the University of London. He is happily married to Annie, and is an overly proud father to a two-and-a-half-year-old aspiring artist, Isla.
With a marketing background heavy in graphic design, Laurie has a passion for visual communication. After graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, she stuck around in sunny South Florida and joined the ranks of corporate advertising. Eventually feeling something was missing in her career, she ventured into ministry work in hopes to use her God-given talents to better the world in any way she can. Now she is serving at Cross International, communicating their mission to the online world.
Growing up as the daughter of a Christian aid worker and a pastor, Ruthie has always been motivated by ministry work and serving others. Since she joined Cross International in 2008, she has been blessed to travel the world and witness firsthand the wonderful work being accomplished through the Church. As Manager of the Communications Department, she considers it a privilege and honor to lead a team that brings stories of lives transformed for God’s glory in developing countries to American Christians.
